The needs of many may outweigh the needs of one, but the needs of many do not outweigh the rights of one.
Ceding world leadership on weapons of mass destruction to Russia, the country selling the weapons to the Syria and Iran in the first place. Now that's "Change You Can Believe In".
As the Washington ideologues test the political winds before issuing their verdict regarding Syria one must wonder, is Obama truly this incompetent? Or is he simply cold, calculating, and arrogant enough to believe sacrificing the lives of our men and women in uniform for his political benefit to be justified? Despite the Obama administration's protestations to the contrary, I can't fathom a more plausible explanation.
At the peak of the Obama administration's imbecilic political posturing, Vladimir Putin deftly claimed the international podium as a pseudo-diplomatic voice of reason. By innocuously offering the Obama administration a means to salvage some dignity rather than facing unparalleled international and domestic scrutiny, Obama willingly ensnared himself in the noose Putin proffered as a life-line.
No matter how much I'd like to however, I can't bring myself to blame Obama for being the fool he is. In the world Obama comes from, the only repercussions fools suffer for their foolishness are the dying echoes of their own voice in a lecture hall. Rather than the dying screams of America's bravest on an irrelevant battlefield, in an irrelevant war, fought only to keep their commander in chief from becoming equally as irrelevant. As his love affair with the sound of his own voice proves, Obama much prefers to hear an echo.
His life's training and vocation prior to January 20th 2009 was exclusively in the art of armchair quarterbacking. He was no more prepared to be President of the United States than watching Sports Center would prepare a high school has-been to play in the Super Bowl. It was unreasonable of us as an electorate to expect a mediocre academic turned irrelevant junior senator, who voted "present" in any situation requiring a modicum of responsibility, to shed his carefully cultivated and nurtured life paradigm.
Once again, Barack rushes in where true statesman fear to tread.
Just in case you didn't find Obama's reasoning for invading Syria muddled enough, here's a flow chart illustration of his logical shortcomings.
I've often wondered what makes socialism and it's derivatives so theoretically plausible, yet utterly catastrophic in practice. Perhaps it's quite simply because it appeals to a people's lowest moral and intellectual denominator. Perniciously enabling the masses with a crutch that damns them from ever standing on their own.
More fun than a barrel full of Democrats . . . going over Niagara Falls.
The most well reasoned assessment of the world context in which Obama is making the decision to take military action against Bashar al-Assad in Syria. And somehow Obama still claims George W. made dubious assertions and incompetent decisions that lead us into a war.
Although the primary subject of this blog is of course government incompetence, from time to time I'll post other assorted tidbits of information and/or photos that I think you may find interesting. Such as this one for example.
The story behind this photo is I spent some time in South Africa a few years ago. While I was there I went to a wildlife preserve close to Johannesburg. 3rd world engineering being what it is, only a simple chain link fence separated us from 500 pounds of teeth and claws who wouldn't think twice about taking a bite out of anything and anybody unfortunate enough to come within range of his razor sharp teeth and claws.
Being the pixel perfectionist that I am I put my entire arm through the chain link fence with my camera to get a better photo. As I pressed the shutter button I quickly realized I had neglected to turn red eye reduction off on my camera. Red eye reduction works by firing a quick succession of flash bursts prior to taking the exposure, which causes the subject's pupil to shrink. Apparently as a little known side benefit, red eye reduction also enrages lions that previously had declined to acknowledge your existence.
When the first burst of light from the flash went off the lion immediately began snarling and scrambling to his feet. Since he was only about 15 feet away from me, by the time the exposure was taken he was already beginning to lunge toward me and covered the distance between us in a single leap. I extracted my arm and camera mere milliseconds before he raked the fence with his claws only inches from my face. A foul blast of feline halitosis enveloped as he slammed head first into the fence with the every ounce of strength he could muster. The fence bowed outward ominously.
Failing in his effort to snack on my arm and camera he let out a rage filled bellow that literally left my ears ringing.
As for the moral of the story, for me there isn't one. In my somewhat skewed evaluation of risk and reward the resulting photo was entirely worth it. But, don't try this at home. Or in South Africa for that matter.
All representative government's authority is based upon citizens providing input into the the legislative process via their candidate decisions at the ballot box, and that the resulting legislation will be administered without bias. What should be most concerning to Americans of all political persuasions regarding the Obama Administration's IRS scandal is that their actions undermine the very moral imperative of justice that the United States is founded upon.
Indeed a recent Rasmussen poll shows fewer Americans than ever believe elections in the United States are fair. Only 39% of Americans believe elections are fair while 17% more are undecided. By extension, this implicitly means 61% of Americans have doubts as to whether the vote they cast was even counted in an election.
Rasmussen Poll Link: http://goo.gl/SGvzKr
That means 61% of Americans doubt the validity of our elected elected officials in office, 61% of us doubt the validity of legislation those officials create, and 61% of us question the equity with which this legislation is administered. Absolute and unconditional fairness at the ballot box is inseparably vital to the very moral basis upon which a representative democracy is predicated. If not addressed immediately and fairly, concerns with our election system will create schisms from which we will never recover.
I wish I had a mind like a Liberal . . . able to spontaneously create "facts" from both thin air and out the vicinity of their rectum.
The foundation as to the nature of any form of governance lies in the rights retained by those being governed. In this singular point lies the irreconcilable divergence of liberalism and conservatism.
An often overlooked but nonetheless fundamentally important aspect of this discussion is in the origin of man's rights. Since conservatives in general believe man is endowed with these rights by a Creator, they hold these rights to be sacred, and therefore infringing on them is a crime against man and God. Conservatism is based on the premise that freedom in governance is only possible when governments respect and protect these divinely appropriated rights. Encroaching upon these rights inevitably causes the ship of state to list toward tyranny.
Atheism is the foundation of liberal theory and all of its sundry relative philosophies such as socialism, Marxism, and communism. Therefore rights can not stem from a Creator, but rather the government is the creator, grantor, and steward of individual rights. With the belief that the government grants all rights, by virtue of being their dispenser it's also the government's prerogative to regulate the exercise of these rights. By design, this leaves the rights essential to a free citizenry and a democratic republic subject to the whims and vagaries of politicians. To meddle with, manipulate, abuse, and to deny their critics as they alone see fit.
Although the genesis of each ideological opinion seems rather benign, their divergence in matters regarding the protection and safeguarding of these fundamental rights is the foundation of all other facets of each ideology. For better or worse.
As today's most prominent liberal Barack Obama has shown, Americans have First Amendment rights, until they criticize him or his administration. Then he will use any weapon at his disposal, including the punitive machinations of the federal government, to silence his critics. He also believes that Americans have the right to bear arms, up until the point that the point that they would have armament sufficient to carry out their constitutional mandate to challenge a tyrannical government of course. At which point they will be branded domestic terrorists and exterminated by any means necessary (domestic drone strikes are much closer to reality in 2013 than they ever were during the George W. Bush years).
Whether atheist or believer, intellectually honest Americans should agree that exercising our constitutional rights should not be subject to the permission of the current party in power, or granted according to political ideology. The fact that liberalism directly contradicts this fundamental tenet of the American way of life shows just how far down the road of fascism the Democrat party is propelling our nation. We are free citizens, who need ask no man's leave to exercise our rights. The fact that the fundamental assumptions of liberalism cast aspersions on this most fundamental American ideal underlines its insidiously corrupt and anti-American nature.
I generally assume that receiving a certain amount of liberal hate-mail is simply a by-product of voicing an intelligent conservative opinion. However, the deluge of hate-mail resulting from my article "Of Rulers, Scapegoats, and Handouts" was even more amusing to me than usual. These liberals, suffering from an obvious deficiency in logical thought process, failed to note the irony that by the very anger filled and obscenity laced tirades they sent proved the thesis of my article correct. That liberalism uses our most base and crass instincts to unite the majority of the population in rage at a scapegoat du jour. They then manipulate this populist rage into perpetual power for themselves by promising handouts to all.
In my next blog post we'll discuss the three main types of liberals, the Ruling Class, Drone Class, and the Gimme Class.
In the history of the United States has there ever been a Press Secretary more allergic to the truth than Jay Carney? It's almost as if he sincerely believes that the world would cease spinning if he were to phrase an utterance that bore more than a vague, abstract similarity to the truth. AFTER the IRS had admitted and apologized for targeting conservatives Jay still couldn't bring himself to admit it.
Can you imagine being married to this guy?
Wife: Jay, did you remember to take the garbage out?
Jay: Well . . . I'm not familiar with the specific garbage you're referencing but, um . . . I'd refer you to the city sanitation department for more information, uh . . . commitment to open and transparent garbage removal . . . for the American people. Hope and change.
Wife: I'll take that as a no.
Jay: To the best of my knowledge no wrongdoing by any administration officials has occurred . . . we will initiate an investigation into the matter so we can have all the facts in front of us before making recommendations or taking specific action . . . until all the facts in this situation are known I can't make any further comment on this garbage matter.
Wife: Have fun sleeping on the couch tonight.
Liberalism at its core is inherently disingenuous and contradictory simply because liberal doctrine is entirely dissociated from any attempt at good governance. Liberalism exists solely because it has been shown countless times to be the easiest method of securing and holding power among politicians at all levels of government. This power can then be wielded by those in government to enrich themselves at the citizen's expense and to bludgeon their enemies with. Since the fundamental aims of liberal ideology is by its nature immoral, its pursuit necessitates un-mooring from all moral principles. The "truth" becomes a subjective opinion rather than an objective and verifiable fact. Thus moral relativism and an 'ends justifies the means' mentality is the obvious conclusion among adherents.
In liberalism, three distinct and separate classes of people must exist. A ruling class, a scapegoat class, and a target class. Never in the history of the world have liberals been elected to power based on their advocacy of issues. They are elected by dividing the electorate along demographic lines by holding a small, but volatile demographic up as a straw-man for the remainder of the people to senselessly bludgeon, skewer, and cast all blame upon. To ensure success certain other demographics can be targeted to become the recipients of certain government handouts in order to secure their vote. In part, one of the dangers of liberalism is that with the right insinuations from the right politicians there is very little difference between liberal supporters and lynch mobs. Consider for example how many riots for liberal causes have resulted in property damage and/or loss of life as compared to conservative riots (hint: conservative riot is an oxymoron).
It's far easier to develop hatred for a person or an idea than it is to develop love. It's faster to destroy rather than build as well. And in the same manner it's easier to be the detractor of an idea than an advocate of one. Though it's easier and provides results much faster, the left's natural inclination to be detractors, destroyers, and fomenters of hate reveals an incorrigible poverty of character.
The IRS auditing political enemies, persecution of journalists who don't support party propaganda, the left-ward skew of the administration of justice, and administration officials soliciting money from firms they directly regulate are noteworthy not because of their rarity, but because this is simply the day to day operation of the liberal machine exposed for all to see.
The United States was founded by builders and dreamers with an immovable commitment to extending the blessings of peace, prosperity, and justice to all. As such, with its inherent need to crucify a specific demographic and buy the votes of others with handouts, liberalism is irreconcilably un-American.
Considering that the federal government's own research has shown it to be more addictive than pharmaceutical grade narcotics, alters brain activity and thought patterns, and is shown to produce long term mental and emotional damage, why do we not consider welfare to be the true opiate of the masses?
“Everyone wants to live at the expense of the state. They forget that the state lives at the expense of everyone.”
Socialism is a lot like Bigfoot, a surprising number of people believe in it despite overwhelming empirical evidence to the contrary.
It’s times like this when hope seems to have been extinguished that I actually feel the most hope for us as a country. Because for a few short days we’re Americans standing shoulder to shoulder with each other and all else ceases to matter. For a few short moments the vibrant and indomitable spirit of the American people burns through the caustic partisan divides Washington erects between us. Our hearts and prayers are with you Oklahoma.

Conspiracy theories are a lot like reality TV shows. Occasionally fun to watch from the sidelines but it takes the wilful exclusion of reality in order to make them sound plausible and they all end up going nowhere. Sorry Alex Jones.
The Obama administration however has given Americans a glimpse into how the inner machinations of liberalism work in practice, rather than theory and vague platitudes. And the American people are justifiably nauseated by it. Now more than ever America needs to see the truthful juxtaposition of conservative principals contrasted against the insidious individuality crushing power of the all powerful juggernaut state advocated by liberals.
The truth, as always, about liberalism is a damning condemnation of the inherently flawed pseudo-intellectual drivel that it is. And the truth will set America and its citizens free. No conspiracy theories necessary.
